Artist's Comments

So, here is the second political cartoon i did for the school newspaper. Unfortunately, it wil never see print.

Mrs. Paige informed me that it was deemed it too offensive, controversial, and would put myself and the school at legal risk if it were to be published.

That said, everyone seemed to love it, including Mrs. Paige, and it feels really good when you hear people having a discussion and expressing outrage that a peice of your work was cut.

It's actually quite tame if i do say so myself. But if i produced something that i think would be truly "controversial" by my standards, i would most likely be expelled for even bringing it to school. But anyways, here it is, in all its "controversial", censored glory.

(note: yes, i know it's "cries" not "cry's" but lets see how good of a speller you are when cartooning at 2:30 in the morning)

Thanks a lot man!

Ya know, it depends on whether or not they ask me to do another one this month. But if they do, I will almost certainly tackle that issue (i was actaully going to tackle it anyway! Using a comparison between the spanish-american war and the iraq war)

Pretty good! It is too politically incorrect for your school. I'm glad you posted it here! =D

Yeah, it's the same old program country to country. It's "by the book" as they say...

1) They "save" you from your oppressors. Oppressors = Business Rivals.
2) Become new oppressors under the guise of freedom and all that BS.
3) Capitalize on said countries resources.
4) Makes you more dependent to the program by injecting you with their way of doing things and implies that you are wrong and can't make it on your own without their medical aid and protection. Oh and diverts your attention by pointing to their rivals as the "bad guys" when they're no better.
5) Repeat steps 1-4 and you conquered the world without them even knowing it.

And it still works so far, right? So why change it haha!

It's the same thing they pulled off in the Philippines when they supposedly saved us from the Spaniards.

It's appalling to see your countrymen have no sense of Nationality and that's what they take away. It's appalling to see them believe that you're not supposed to feel good about yourself unless you speak good English and/or act and sound more like Americans. I don't hate America. You guys have a lot of History but imagine being taught to be believe to be someone you're not, it's loss cause, imagine Americans wishing to be more like Chinese or Japanese. Sounds unacceptable, right? It's the reality from where I'm from, unfortunately.

Anyway, that's me blabbing away.
